Osteoarthritis - Symptoms

Some common symptoms that you may experience if you suffer from osteoarthritis include:

- Mild to severe pain or stiffness in the joints --the area where two bones connect. Examples of joints include the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles.
- Difficulty in moving the joints
- Limited range of motion in the joints
- A “creaking” sound when you move
- Instability of the joints
- Swelling of the joints
- Deformity of the joints
- Bony enlargement of affected joints, e.g. Herberden’s Node, Bouchard’s

PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU:
- have a fever
- have a significant deformity of the joints 
- have a suspected case of rheumatoid arthritis--  when your joint becomes inflamed
- have severe pain
- have pain lasting for more than 10 days even with treatment
