Premenstrual Syndrome - Symptoms

Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS usually starts 1 to 2 weeks before a woman’s expected period and lasts several days into the period. PMS involves both Physical Changes and Mood Changes.

PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS
- Cramping or bloating in your lower belly
- Tender or swollen breasts
- Weight gain
- Dizziness
- Headache or backache
- Joint or muscle pain
- Feeling tired
- Acne
- Craving for food
- Constipation or diarrhea

EMOTIONAL SYMPTOMS

- Depression
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Crying spells
- Mood swings
- Trouble concentrating
- Poor memory

- Severe symptoms that impair your everyday normal routine. This may indicate the possibility of Premenstrual Dysophoric Disorder (PMDD), a more severe form of PMS.
