Sore Throat - Prevention

Here a few steps you can take to reduce your chances of getting a sore throat:
- Avoid coming into contact with allergens or irritants
- Avoid crowded places
- Practice good hygiene to avoid getting the common cold or flu. For example, wash your hands with water and soap or use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
- Wipe surfaces (door knobs, telephones, sink handles) with disinfectants
- Take the antivirals or antibiotics medications your doctor prescribes to fight off viral or bacterial infection
- Do not smoke
- Do not scream/yell for long periods of time
