Anemia - Symptoms

Symptoms of anemia, e.g., fatigue, occur because organs are not receiving the required oxygen from red blood cells to function properly.
The following symptoms are common to all types of anemia:

- Fatigue or lack of energy
- Shortness of breath (especially during exercise)
- Dizziness or light-headedness (especially when standing up or with activity)
- Headache
- Feeling cold

Other possible symptoms of certain types of anemia include:

- Chest pain
- Trouble concentrating or thinking
- Constipation
- Tingling
