Fever, Pain - Causes

Depending on the time of the day and the physical activities we participate in, our body temperature normally changes between 97.5 to 98.9°F. This is because there is a region in our brain that constantly sends out signals to our body to maintain a relatively constant temperature.  However, when our body gets a bacterial infection, our brain will automatically set our body temperature to a temperature that is higher than the normal body temperature in order to create an unfavorable environment for the bacteria to grow in and thus fight off the infection.

Fever can also be caused by:
- our body’s reaction to certain medications
- dehydration
- severe sun burns
- cancerous tumors
- vaccinations
