GERD/Heartburn - Symptoms

Common symptoms of acid reflux are:

- Heartburn, also called acid indigestion, is a burning pain or discomfort that may move from your stomach to your abdomen or chest, or even up into your throat. Even though the symptom may be called "heartburn," it does not affect the heart.

- Regurgitation is the backing up of a sour or bitter-tasting acid into your throat or mouth; this can come as a "wet burp" or even vomit up some of the food contents you ingested earlier.

- Bloating

- Bloody or black stools or bloody vomiting

- Burping

- Dysphagia -- a narrowing of your esophagus, which creates the sensation of food being stuck in your throat

- Hiccups that dont let up

- Nausea

- Weight loss for no known reason

- Wheezing, dry cough, hoarseness, or chronic sore throat
