Sprains and Strains - Symptoms

Common symptoms associated with sprains and strains include: 
- Pain 
- Swelling 
- Bruising 
- Limited ability to move at the site of injury 

PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU:
- Have moderate to intense swelling 
- Decreased range of motion  
- Have a suspected fracture 
- Have visible joint deformity – a joint is the area where two bones meet.  Examples of joints include shoulder, hips, ankles, wrists, spine, knee, elbow, neck, and thumb. 
- Have severe pain 
- Have pain lasting for more than 10 days even with treatment
